Incident Command Roles & Responsibilities (Also accepted as Emergency Response Series Option 2)

  • Topic Overview:  Being prepared for the inevitable is what it’s all about.   The Incident Command System was developed as a result of fires that consumed large portions of forest, but the EPA and OSHA have reviewed the concept and applied it to all hazardous material situations. Without an ICS the coordination of procedures to effectively control these situations would result in chaos and greater losses.  The ICS brings the specifics of the mitigation activities to one person the Incident Commander.
