Meeting Minutes

February 20, 2008

2:00 P.M.

Attendees:  Ed VanAvery, Kenitha Severn, Caren Pankow, Kari Back, Tarah Kile, Pat Hoist, Michelle Jones, Maria Sandow, Eldon Sprague, Bob Carrier, Archie L. Hoard.

Minutes from January 16, 2008 were reviewed and approved.  No comments or changes were made.

Treasurers Report:  Michelle Jones reported no activity.

Old Business:  Ed VanAvery requested that members planning to conduct safety training contact him so he can post the date/time to the MMSC website.  He is working to improve the website to make it more interactive, and requested that the Council approve additional funds to add SSL.  Members discussed the possibility of having a page for safety news on recent accidents, etc., and or links to news websites.

New Business:  Discussion of satellite chapters continued and Dale Majewsky has stated an interest for the Cadillac area.  Pat Hoist requested a chapter in Bay City or one that could meet at the GLSTC.

Safety Expo:  Michelle Jones discussed advertising and the possibility of having a banner for MMSC in Farwell.  Topics/Speakers were discussed, and members were asked to find speakers, and once confirmed, send their names to Ed VanAvery and Kari Back.  Bob Carrier suggested posting a matrix to the website for this purpose.

Members discussed and agreed that vendors for the Expo will pay a $35 fee.

Round Table:  Accident/Injury incidents were shared by each member and their specific business/industry.

Bob Carrier discussed the draft MIOSHA Ergonomics standard and conducted an Ergonomics presentation for council members.
